The Turbo Florio Collection
The Turbo Florio Collection is a collection of turbocharged Porsches. They all share a 75-year Porsche heritage, each following a unique path in pursuit of perfection, and is an engineering marvel in its own right.
While these cars are meticulously maintained, they are driven as intended, with road patina worn as a badge of honor. Anything less is a dishonor to the generations of engineering that have gone into these magnificent machines and the craftsmanship that goes into each build.
Turbo Florio 1:
1996 911 Turbo (993)
The first Turbo Florio build. The car I had dreamed about since I was a teen was initiated in 1995 and delivered in February 1996.
The 993, the last of the air-cooled 911 Turbos, encapsulates many pieces of technology from the 959 into an everyday 911 Turbo. Sophisticated yet analog to its soul.
This car served as my daily driver spanning three decades.
177K miles and counting.

Turbo Florio 2:
2021 Taycan Turbo S
The second Turbo Florio build was initiated in 2020 and delivered in February 2021. While technically not a Turbo, it does have the soul of a Turbo with uncompromised performance and luxury in a daily driver.
This car shares many of the technologies with it’s 992 ICE sibling such as Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, (PDCC) Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) to name a few.
My kids are in their 30’s now and they don’t fit in the back of the 993 any longer, so with a back seat and trunk, this is the sport utility vehicle of the collection and the best candidate for a trip to the grocery store, but it is also capable of tearing up a mountain road.

Turbo Florio 3:
1960 356 Emory Turbo Speedster
The third Florio Turbo build was initiated in 2021, with delivery anticipated in the summer of 2025.
This build pays homage to Porsche's pre-993 heritage from the 550 Spyder, 356, through 964, while remaining period-correct aesthetically in what a 356 Turbo from Porsche might look like had they continued the platform.
This build will be the first to integrate both twin turbos and all-wheel-drive on the same platform and the first time for each in a speedster.
This car shares a Rothsport Racing heritage with its Gunther Werks sibling. More to follow on this build to come as things develop.
With nearly 400 hp at less than 2000 lb, physics suggests we should see an improvement on the 12.5 seconds 0-60 of the original 1960 Super 90 Roadster.

Turbo Florio 4:
2024 911 Turbo S (992)
The fourth Turbo Florio build was initiated in 2023 and delivered in September 2023.
This build pays homage to all the post-993 heritage, conceding to water cooling in their flagship 911 Turbo platform, which remains the benchmark today to which all others are compared.
This car shares many of the technologies with it’s Taycan EV sibling such as Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control, (PDCC) Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) to name a few.
Just as the 993 was the last air-cooled generation, the 992 is potentially the last pure ICE generation before the hybrid 911’s take root.

Turbo Florio 5:
1996 911 (993) Gunther Werks Tornado
The fifth Turbo Florio build was initiated in 2023, with delivery anticipated in the summer of 2025. This will be one of the 75 Tornado builds from Gunther Werks.
This build pays homage to the 993 GT2 and what it might look like today if Porsche continued developing the 993 platform.
This car shares a Rothsport Racing heritage with its Emory sibling.
This is the only RWD one in the bunch and will undoubtedly be a tack monster. More to follow on this build to come as things develop.
